Monsters Run the River
In 2024, Run the River will be monster themed! Wear your best Halloween outfit to run this 5K! Dress up your dog to run the canine 5K. Spooky monster costumes are encouraged but all costumes are welcome!
About Run the River
Run the River is a 5K with a route that winds along the scenic Presumpscot River and through beautiful downtown Westbrook. This race features a 5K and a Canine 5K race!

This event is a fundraiser to benefit Discover Downtown Westbrook, a Main Street America community.

Registration Fees
Registration is just $30! You can register on the day of the event for $40. There is a $10 discount for all students (use discount code student24).

Team Registration
We have a group discount of $5 per person if you register with a group of 4 or more! If everyone signs up at once, you'll get the discount automatically. If you sign up at different times (using the team sign up feature - best for groups who are paying separately), you will receive a $5 refund once you have at least 4 members.

Race Shirts
The first 75 runners will receive their official race t-shirt for free! After that, race shirts will be $18.00 (performance) Don't want to race but want a shirt? Email info@downtownwestbrook.com and we'll get you one!

Awards
The awards for ALL races will occur after all the races are completed, approximately 11 AM at Riverbank Park. For any winners who cannot stay until that time, we will connect with each one individually to get their award to them. Please be aware race results and award categories may be searchable online after the event.

Cancellation Policy
While we do not anticipate the race being cancelled, if there is any extreme weather- e.g. thunderstorms, washed out course, etc. that causes a cancellation, the race will not be postponed and no refunds will be given. If there is less severe weather (e.g. light rain) and we still hold the race, no refunds will be given to those who choose not to race.

Refund Policy
There are no refunds for any reason, but you may transfer your registration should you become unable to participate. Please contact info@downtownwestbrook.com for details on how to transfer.

PACKET PICK UP
Friday, October 25, 6:00-8:00PM at Wessie's Den (212 Brown Street) in Westbrook - all runners who pick up at Wessie's receive $1 off any drink during packet pick-up party!
Saturday, October 26 - Brea Lu Cafe, 10 am to 12 pm (511 Main St, Westbrook)
Sunday, October 27 (Race Day!), 8:00AM at Riverbank Park

I know that participating in the Run the River event is a potentially hazardous activity and I should not enter and participate unless I am medically able and properly trained. I acknowledge and assume any and all risks associated with this event including, but not limited to, traffic on the course route, falls, contact with other participants, and the condition of the course, including, but not limited to, curbs, cars, uneven pavement, potholes, rocks, and objects on the course surface. Knowing and appreciating these risks and in consideration of your acceptance of my entry, I hereby for myself, my heirs, representatives or anyone else claiming on my behalf, covenant not to sue, and waive, release, and discharge Discover Downtown Westbrook, its volunteers, and sponsors, and anyone else acting for or on behalf the Run the River event from any and all claims of liability for death, personal injury, or damage of any kind arising out of my participation in this run. This Acknowledgement of Risk and Waiver of Liability extends to all claims of every kind whatsoever. I also consent to emergency treatment in the event of injury or illness. I grant full permission to DDW and/or any person or entity authorized by it to use my name, age, date of birth, finish place and finish time in the public domain. I further grant full permission for DDW to use any photographs, recordings, or any other record of this event for any purpose. SecureFee™ Registration Cancellation Insurance is offered in most states. If purchased, your registration may be covered for one of the covered reasons stated in the policy.
